About Madeleine Samuelson White

She was a scholar at the Royal Academy of Dancing before going to Sadlers Wells Ballet School for two years. From there she entered the Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet Company, becoming a soloist and staying for five years.

Leaving to get married, she had five children. She still danced and amongst other things, she danced in, choreographed for and taught at Dance for Everyone, a dance education company. In 1974 she graduated in the Professional Dancers Teaching course at the Royal Academy of Dancing. After running her own Ballet School for 18 years she decided to train as a teacher of the Alexander Technique so that she could use her considerable experience to help young dancers. Three years later, in 1992, she graduated and taught until 2008.

Madeleine has lectured on the Alexander Technique and Dance and is happy to talk to anyone on the subject

She lives in Oxfordshire and used to teach at the Arts Educational School at Tring.
